Another ordinary day I had
Nothing special to add
Neither happy nor sad
But then I noticed everybody was glad
Glad the Constitution is alive
Glad discrimination is dead
Glad to arrive
Glad to be in Texas instead
Glad to be huddled in the eye of the storm
Glad to watch from the news feed
Glad international relations will warm
Glad America will once more lead
Where I go I see a happy throng
Why can’t I be swept along?
Is something in me wrong?
Or maybe I just don’t belong?
An ordinary day
